Customs procedures

Customs clearance is a set of procedures necessary for importing imported goods into Russia. It consists of collecting documents, making payments and directly customs clearance.

An alternative definition of customs clearance is obtaining permission from the Russian customs authority for the free import of cargo into the country.

The procedure for customs clearance of goods:

• The customs authority of the importing country is notified when the cargo is due to cross the border between countries.
• The cargo is delivered to the customs clearance zone (temporary storage warehouse).
• A customs declaration and other documents are drawn up, and the necessary examinations are carried out.
• Customs duties are paid.
